What ages do you visit? Are there limits on group size?
Our author/filmmaker school assemblies are appropriate for K-6th grade. We ask that you divide students into groups of no more than 125 students, but we can make special exceptions for large schools. Also, please group similar ages together (like 1st and 2nd grade, not 1st and 4th grade), so that we can make our assemblies very age-appropriate. We also do programs for family groups and adults.
How long are your programs?
They are usually about 50 minutes, to give people time to file in and out within an hour.
How much do your programs cost?
The following are costs for school assemblies. Please call for other types of presentations. (The number of assemblies needed depends on the number of students in your school -- divide them into groups of around 125 students).
- 2 programs = $650.00 plus travel
- 3 programs = $800.00 plus travel (and lunch if possible)
- 4 programs = $950.00 plus travel (and lunch if possible)
We do no less than two and no more than four school assemblies during the school day. If you would like us to do an additional evening program for families or teachers, contact us for pricing. Depending on distance, we may also need lodging. Please contact us about the travel cost. Our offices are located in two main places this year: East Lansing, Michigan and Portland, Oregon.
How do students need to be prepared for your assemblies?
We will send you promotional materials, depending on which program you want. Students at schools should see the books and movies before we arrive, so that they are familiar with our work.
Will people have a chance to buy autographed products?
Yes. At schools, we will bring order forms to send home with teachers and students after our assembly, to do a post-order. This will give people a chance to buy autographed things at a discount. At libraries and museums, we often do product sales/signings directly after our program.
